Lakeview Discovery Centre
Architectural art
Lakeview Discovery Centre, set along Mississauga’s waterfront serves as a dual function of community and presentation centre for Lakeview Village. This iconic building is part of a master-planned community. It includes spaces for art, culture, and culinary events while providing visitors with an enriched experience to discover more about future development.
Drawing inspiration from the iconic “Four Sisters” chimneys of the historical Lakeview Generating Station, the design of the building incorporates four vertical elements that pay homage to this significant landmark. Additionally, a sloping green roof visible from street level not only adds to the aesthetic appeal but also underscores the team’s dedication to sustainability. In line with this commitment, the building is equipped with free electric vehicle (EV) chargers for public use, promoting eco-friendly transportation options, and a water harvesting system to support irrigation needs throughout the site.
The Discovery Centre offers several rooms that cater to a variety of community needs, such as activities, meetings, and sales galleries to accommodate different stages of the development. With a lounge and a specially designed community room, there are countless possibilities for hosting social events. Additionally, an extensive outdoor terrace offers panoramic views of the green roof, the entire Lakeview Village premises, and the stunning Lake Ontario.
